Every player in DC, GG, MI, RCB and UPW, with price, country and role

The squads are finally done. Each franchise kept its core in September, then filled the gaps at the auction in Kochi on 28 October. Twenty-five players were bought, which takes the league to 88 players across five squads. Gujarat Giants, Mumbai Indians and UP Warriorz have the full 18; Delhi Capitals and RCB stopped at 17. Below is every squad with prices, who came in and who left. See the full WPL 2027 schedule, teams and squads.

Latest (29 Oct, after the auction): every squad on this page is now final. 63 players were retained in September, Tara Norris moved from UP Warriorz to Mumbai Indians in a trade, and 25 more were bought in Kochi. Players marked NEW joined at the auction. The squads can still change if a team signs an injury replacement before the season starts on 14 January.

Delhi Capitals (DC) squad 17 players

Overseas: 6 · Bought in Kochi: 4 for ₹1.05 cr · Purse left: ₹5 lakh · Places empty: 1

Four finals, four defeats, and the same top order again. Delhi kept Kapp, Jemimah, Sutherland and Shafali at ₹2.2 crore each and spent most of their auction money on one player, Kiran Navgire.

Released: Lizelle Lee, Alana King, Sneh Rana (now UPW), Taniya Bhatia (unsold), Pragati Singh (unsold), Eddla Srujana (unsold)

Our take: Navgire for ₹75 lakh is a statement: DC think middle-order collapses have cost them finals, and she is a proper hitter. Kirstie Gordon is the clever buy. She plays for Scotland, so she can be a fifth overseas player and give them a specialist left-arm spinner without dropping anyone. The worry is that Madiwala Mamatha is still the only keeper. Full breakdown: Delhi Capitals women squad 2027.

Gujarat Giants (GG) squad 18 players

Overseas: 6 · Bought in Kochi: 3 for ₹80 lakh · Purse left: ₹45 lakh · Squad full

The most settled squad in the league stayed that way. Gujarat kept 15, added three, and Ashleigh Gardner at ₹3.5 crore is still their most expensive player.

Our take: We expected a big bid on Sophia Dunkley. Instead Dunkley went unsold and Gujarat took Ireland’s Orla Prendergast at base price to replace Wyatt-Hodge at the top. G Kamalini at ₹40 lakh is a buy for the future. A quiet, smart night. Full breakdown: Gujarat Giants women squad 2027.

Mumbai Indians (MI) squad 18 players

Overseas: 6 · Bought in Kochi: 6 for ₹70 lakh · Purse left: ₹20 lakh · Squad full

The two-time champions kept their world-class all-rounders together under Harmanpreet Kaur, then filled six Indian places on the cheapest budget in the league.

Our take: Sciver-Brunt, Kerr and Matthews could walk into any T20 team in the world, and Tara Norris lets MI play five overseas. At the auction, Shweta Sehrawat at ₹20 lakh fixes the opening slot and Latika Inamdar gives them a second keeper. What is still missing is an experienced Indian spinner. Full breakdown: Mumbai Indians women squad 2027.

The defending champions changed very little. Smriti Mandhana, Richa Ghosh and Ellyse Perry are still the three biggest names, and the auction filled two clear gaps.

Our take: Before the auction we said RCB needed a big hitter and an overseas spinner. They got Chloe Tryon and Jess Jonassen, plus two Indian batters for cover. One worry: Jonassen was ruled out of the WBBL with a hip injury on auction day. Full breakdown: RCB women squad 2027.

UP Warriorz (UPW) squad 18 players

Overseas: 6 · Bought in Kochi: 8 for ₹2.6 cr · Purse left: ₹1.15 cr · Squad full

From ten players to 18 in one night. UP Warriorz made the biggest changes of anyone and the biggest bid of the auction, and still kept the most money back.

Our take: The best auction of the five. Molineux at ₹1.1 crore, a keeper in Sushma Verma, and three WPL regulars at ₹30 lakh each. Four of the eight buys bowl spin, so this could be the hardest attack in the league to score off on Indian pitches. Full breakdown: UP Warriorz squad 2027.

The auction did not change the top of the pay list. Molineux’s ₹1.1 crore, the biggest bid of the night, puts her joint 21st in the league with Laura Wolvaardt.

The swap shop: six players changed teams through the release-and-auction route. Navgire went from UPW to DC, Kamalini from MI to GG, Harris from RCB to UPW, Sneh Rana from DC to UPW, Tryon from UPW to RCB and Shweta Sehrawat from UPW to MI. Asha Sobhana ended up right back at UPW. Only two England players registered for the auction after several opted out of the WPL, and neither was picked.

The 10 names we watched, and where they went

Before the auction we said a bid above ₹1 crore would be the headline, and that UP Warriorz were the only team able to go there. That is exactly what happened.

Our view

Strongest squad on paper

RCB

Still the favourites

The champions kept their core and added exactly what they lacked. Batting depth to nine.

MI

Best overseas core

Sciver-Brunt, Kerr and Matthews, plus a fifth overseas player through Norris. The bench is young.

UPW

Most improved

A full, balanced squad for the first time in three years, with the deepest spin attack in the league.

DC · GG

Playoff regulars

Both kept the groups that reached the 2026 playoffs. DC need a keeper to stay fit; GG need a knockout win.

Our call: before the auction we said RCB and MI would still have the best squads, but a smart night in Kochi could put UP Warriorz in the mix. UPW had that smart night. We now see three real title contenders, RCB, MI and UPW, with Delhi and Gujarat close behind.
