Format of the Kalinga Super Cup
Both the Indian Super League (ISL) and I-League teams have been invited to take part in the annual tournament. The format of the tournament will consist of four groups of four teams each, who will play single-leg matches amongst themselves. Sixteen teams will compete for silverware, with the winner earning a place in the ACL 2 Preliminary Stage of the AFC 2024-25 season. The 12 Indian Super League (ISL) teams, along with four teams from the I-League, are set to participate. The top three ranked I-League teams after December 24, 2023, among the I-League teams that have confirmed their participation, will slot into the first three groups respectively, while the I-League 4 spot will be determined by playing a playoff between the I-League 4th placed and I-League 5th placed sides, which will be held on January 8.
