Indian men’s national team head coach Manolo Marquez has finalized a 25-man squad for the upcoming AFC Asian Cup qualifier against Hong Kong, scheduled for June 10.
The Blue Tigers initially travelled to Thailand with a 28-member squad for a FIFA international friendly, which concluded with a 2-0 loss on Wednesday.
Goalkeeper Hrithik Tiwari and defenders Mehtab Singh and Subhasish Bose have been released from the camp and will return to India directly from Thailand. The remaining 25 players have now shifted base to Bangkok to gear up for the crucial clash against Hong Kong.
India began their qualifying campaign with a goalless draw against Bangladesh in March. The recent loss to Thailand has added pressure ahead of the crucial away tie against Hong Kong.
All four teams in India’s group are currently level on one point apiece after the opening round of matches.
