The 2023 Asian Games, officially known as the 19th Asian Games are going to be held from 23 September to 8 October 2023 in the China city of Hangzhou. It will be also called the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games.
The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) announced the 653-member India contingent for the upcoming 19th Asian Games. The Indian contingent features 328 men and 325 women athletes from a total of 34 sports disciplines.
Indian sportspersons will complete in the disciplines such as Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Boxing, Bowling, Canoe-Kayak (Sprint), Canoe-Kayak (Slalom), Cycling, Equestrian, Fencing, Gymnastics, Golf, Handball, Hockey, Judo, Kabaddi, Karate, Kurash, Pencak Silat, Roller Skating, Rowing, Sailing, Sambo, Sepaktakraw, Shooting, Squash, Aquatics – Swimming, Aquatics – Diving, Tennis, Taekwondo, Triathlon, Soft Tennis, Table Tennis, Volleyball, Weightlifting, Wrestling and Wushu.
India always come out as the proud winner of Kabaddi in both men’s and women’s categories since the introduction of the games.
The 2019 Asian Games will begin with an opening ceremony on September 23 while the closing ceremony will be held on October 8. Before the opening ceremony, the preliminary rounds of Cricket, Basketball 5×5, Softball, Modern pentathlon, Rowing, and Football are scheduled to take place between the 19th to 22nd of September.
