Exact channel numbers haven’t been published. Auctions usually sit on the main English and Hindi sports feeds, but allocation can change if there’s live cricket elsewhere, so check your set-top box guide on Wednesday afternoon.
Mobile, tablet, smart TV and web. JioStar’s “Game Plan” shows with former India players mean a proper studio production. Whether it’s free or behind a subscription hasn’t been stated; past auctions were free, so open the app early to check.

- Log in with your mobile number and the one-time password.
- Find the auction in the Sports or Cricket section: look for “TATA WPL Auction”.
- Tap the live tile around 5:15 PM IST so you’re in before the first player is called.
- If it buffers, drop the video quality instead of reloading the app.
The first 20–30 minutes are usually build-up, rules and purse graphics. The marquee overseas names tend to come early in a mini-auction, so don’t join later than 6 PM.
Auction start time in your city
Two clock traps this year: the UK is back on GMT from 25 October, so it’s noon in London, not 1 PM. And Sydney and Melbourne are on daylight saving, an hour ahead of Brisbane.

Can you watch it abroad?
No overseas broadcaster has announced coverage as of 25 October, and the international JioHotstar service doesn’t carry live sport, so the Indian stream won’t simply appear if you’re in Leeds or Melbourne.

Sky Sports signed a four-year deal in 2024 covering the IPL and WPL in the UK and Ireland through 2027, and carried the WPL auction in 2024 and 2025. If nothing is confirmed by Wednesday, the WPL website, social channels and franchise accounts post every sale within seconds.
Who holds the rights, and why 2027 matters
2027 is the final year of the original five-season deal. The next cycle, from 2028, will be tendered afresh, and viewing numbers from this auction and season will be part of the case JioStar or a rival makes. No timeline for that tender has been announced.

Australia captain and one of the two headliners. Expect UPW and RCB interest.
Sophia Dunkley
Played for GG in 2023, skipped 2024 and went unsold in 2025. Plenty for commentators to talk about.
Tayla Vlaeminck
Rare pace in the women’s game. A fit Vlaeminck could start a scrap between UPW (three overseas spots) and RCB (two).

Most of the broadcast time goes here, and this is where teams find the domestic players who later break into the India side.

The 2025 mini-auction (19 slots) took about two hours. With 27 slots but only seven overseas, we estimate 2.5 to 3 hours: about 2:30–3:00 PM in the UK, past 1:30 AM in Sydney.
Any bidding war above GG’s ₹1.05 crore is UP Warriorz bidding against themselves.
The night’s highest buy goes to UPW, most likely an overseas pick, possibly Molineux herself.
With ₹8.15 crore for 27 players, about ₹30 lakh a head, expect most uncapped Indians to go at or near base and a quick second half of the broadcast.
