The ICC T20 World Cup 2024 is the ninth edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup tournament. It will be played from 1 June to 29 June 2024 in the West Indies and the United States with twenty teams taking part. It will be the first ICC World Cup tournament to be hosted by the United States.
England is the defending champion, having won the previous edition in 2022. Pakistan are the runners-up.

2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Format.
The 20 qualifying teams will be divided into four groups of five; the top two teams in each group will advance to the Super 8 round. In this stage, the qualifying teams will be split into two groups of four; the top two teams from each group will qualify for the knockout stage, consisting of two semi-finals and a final.

ICC T20 World Cup 2024 Qualification Process
The top eight teams from the 2022 tournament, along with the two hosts, the West Indies and the United States, will automatically qualify for the league phase of the tournament. The remaining places, via the automatic qualification route, will be taken by the next two highest-ranked teams in the ICC Men’s T20I Team Rankings as of 14 November 2022.
The road to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 in the USA and the West Indies will kick off in June with the first set of qualifying events emanating from Europe. This will start the pathway towards the biggest Men’s T20 World Cup, which is set to feature a record 20 teams.
