The Bombay High Court on Wednesday ordered that 13 IPL matches scheduled after April 30 must be shifted outside Maharashtra due to water scarcity in the state
Everyone know that Maharashtra is suffering from heavy droughts and in this IPL season is going in Mumbai. In view of that Bombay High courts today order to BCCI that shift 13 IPL matches out of Maharashtra due to water scarcity in the state. (Fixtures | Squads)
In this IPL 2016 board again have to reschedule the 13 IPL matches venue and Ticket booking process and this will make huge loss to the Both the teams of Maharashtra Mumbai indians and Pune supergiants.
BCCI even mention to courts that Both the teams are ready to pay the 5 crore to maharashtra government in lieu for droughts.
Bombay High Courts not listen anything and order to direct ban of 13 IPL matches and need to shift outside only.
After the verdict, the petitioner Surendra Shrivastava said, “It’s a welcome move. I would have been happy if (state) government would have taken this decision. Would have been happy if IPL or BCCI would have come forward and cooperated on this decision.”
BCCI mention in their statements that no drinking water will be used for watering the pitches and upkeep of the field, the court observed that any water saved can be used towards the drought affected areas.
