The eighth season of the Pakistan Super League is going to start on the 09th of February 2023. The final of this marquee event will be played on the 19th of March 2023. Before the start of this mega event, a player’s draft is required which is going to be happening on the 15th of December 2022. Many players have signup for this season’s players’ draft event to play in the Pakistan Super League.
Before concluding the Player’s draft event all the franchise have given a chance to retain the best players to play in the upcoming season. The player retentions for Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2023 were announced on November 11. One of the biggest trades ahead of the draft was Pakistan skipper Babar Azam, who moved to Peshawar Zalmi in the supplementary round while veteran batter Shoaib Malik and youngster Haider Ali have joined the Karachi Kings from Peshawar Zalmi.
Before the player draft, teams were allowed to assemble eight players. Teams can extend their squad to 18 – Three each in Gold, Diamond, and Platinum categories, five in Silver, two emerging,s and a maximum of two Supplementary categories.
