Pakistan Super League 2021 or PSL 2021 (also known as PSL 6 or for sponsorship reasons HBL PSL 2021) will be the sixth season of the Pakistan Super League. The sixth season of PSL is scheduled to be held from 20th February and it will end on 22nd March of 2021. This will be the second season of PSL which will completely conduct in Pakistan The player draft for the sixth season is going to be held on January 10, 2021. More than 400 international cricketers have expressed their interest to be part of the PSL 2021. But some of the top players may miss out as they will be busy with their international commitments.
All the PSL players are divided into category contracts – top players are allocated in the Platinum contract and have a particular wage as per that contract. PCB offers 5 types of contracts to the PSL players.

A total of 45 players have been retained by the six franchises for PSL 2021. Peshawar Zalmi is the only team to have retained five players, while the remaining sides have retained eight players each.

PSL 2021 Player Draft List
Squads will have at least 16 or 18 members; the 16-member squads will have to consist of five foreign and 11 local players, while the 18-member squads will have to include either six foreign and 12 local players, or five foreign players and 13 local players.

PSL 2021 Player Draft Rule
Each franchise will be given some time to pick the players from draft round wise. The PCB announced that two-time champions Islamabad United would have the first pick, this was decided by a random draw.
How the Player Draft works:
Pick order (for first round only):
- Islamabad United
- Multan Sultan
- Lahore Qalandars
- Peshawar Zalmi
- Quetta Gladiators
- Karachi Kings
- The pick order for the remaining rounds was determined by way of a specially-designed statistical tool.
- The Draft consists of 16 regular rounds with two supplementary rounds where teams can make discretionary picks.
- The first three rounds are Platinum category rounds and teams must pick at least one local and one foreign player in the Platinum category.
- The next three rounds are Diamond category where teams must pick at least one local and one foreign player. The diamond category is followed by three rounds in Gold to complete the first nine picks for each team.
- Teams must pick at least three foreign players in the first nine picks.
- In addition, there are five Silver and two Emerging category rounds to complete a roster of 16 players.
- Each team can pick up to two additional players in the Supplementary round. All supplementary players shall be considered active members of the squad.
- Each side must have a minimum squad of 16 players and can have a maximum squad of 18 players as per the following combination – three platinum, three diamond, three gold, five silver, two emerging, and two supplementary (optional).
- The 16-player squad must include five foreign and 11 local players; while the 18-player squad can include six foreign and 12 local players or five foreign and 13 local players.
- The playing XI must include a minimum of three foreign players and can include a maximum of four foreign players.
