Delhi Daredevils are currently at the bottom of the points table with 3 wins in 12 matches. IPL 2018 has been horrible for them and are officially knocked out of the tournament after losing to RCB. Gautam Gambhir started off as a captain but in the mid-way of the tournament, due to non-performance, he left the captaincy and handed it over to Shreyas Iyer. The change in the captain could not change the fate of Delhi Daredevils.
But, guess what, Delhi Daredevils have plenty of reasons to celebrate. The future of Delhi Daredevils is very positive with a lot of young players showing their tremendous talent.
3 players who will bring the fortunes back to Delhi Daredevils in the future editions of IPL:
1) Rishabh Pant
Rishabh Pant, born in 1997, who is a wicket-keeper batsman has shown some scintillating performance in IPL 2018. His age is just 20 but he is already considered as a big-hitter. In the current IPL 2018, he has scored 582 runs with an average of 52.90 and strike rate of 179.62. The 20-year- the old kid has smashed 1 century and 4 half-centuries so far along with 31 huge sixes. He plays in the middle order and with such big-hitting talent, the future of this kid is beyond imagination. Delhi Daredevils are glad to have him and he is going to best future prospect.
2) Abhishek Sharma
Abhishek Sharma is a 17-year- old kid, who with his batting against RCB touched everyone’s heart. The most impressive thing was the way he was hitting the boundaries. He made 19 balls 46 runs. The twitter was full of praise for this young man who just returned from U-19 World Cup win. Playing with a straight bat is rare in such a small age and he showed the talent India possess when it comes to cricket. The best feature of this young talent is that he can help the team with his bowling as well. He is surely going to get many matches in the future and will be a bright pick for Delhi Daredevils in the future.
3) Prithvi Shaw
The captain of U-19 Indian cricket team got a chance to prove for Delhi Daredevils and he took the opportunity perfectly. He has scored 216 runs in 7 innings with a strike rate of 160. He is expected to give a perfect opening to the team and is successful in doing that so far. His flicks, wrist movement makes him a special talent which he has already shown. With more experience, he is going to become a talented opener and will bring glory to Delhi Daredevils in the future.
Therefore, we can say that the future of Delhi Daredevils is in good hands.
