IPL 2023: 4 Players Mumbai Indians Are Expected To Retain Ahead Of The Auction

Four players Mumbai Indians might retain ahead of the 16th edition of Indian Premier League. IPL 2023 will commence within 10 months from now. Mumbai Indians, the most successful franchise in this lucrative league played very poor cricket in the recently concluded 15th edition of Indian Premier League. But some players performed really well and MI management might retain them ahead of the IPL auction 2023.

Mumbai Indians retained Ishan Kishan worth a whopping amount of 15.25 crores however, he couldn’t justify his price tag. Mumbai Indians also didn’t utilize their money on quality foreign pace bowlers which led to their poor run in IPL 2022.

ROHIT SHARMA

Rohit Sharma has been a great player for Mumbai Indians over the years. He has not only been a good batsman but also a brilliant captain. He has led Mumbai Indians to five IPL titles. His retention in Mumbai Indians side for IPL 2023 is almost certain.

TILAK VERMA

Tilak Verma was excellent throughout the IPL 2022 for Mumbai Indians. Southpaw piled 368 runs in 12 matches and he was the highest run scorer for Mumbai Indians in IPL 15. Tilak Varma showed positive signs in IPL 2022 so MI will surely love to retain him ahead of the IPL auction 2023.

DANIEL SAMS

Daniel Sams impressed everyone with his excellent left-arm medium pace bowling for Mumbai Indians. He had a poor start but bounced back very well and delivered for MI in the later half of IPL 2022. Apart from his bowling, he can also be a useful batter so he is expected to be in the list of four retained players of MI ahead of the IPL 2023.

SURYAKUMAR YADAV

Suryakumar Yadav has been the most consistent middle-order batsman for Mumbai Indians in last three years. He has the ability to anchor the innings and also take on the opposition bowling when required. SKY accumulated 303 runs in 8 outings in IPL 2022 before he was ruled out due to an injury. Mumbai Indians will surely look to retain him in IPL 2023.
