IPL 2023: 4 Players Lucknow Super Giants Are Expected To Retain Ahead Of The Auction

Four players Lucknow Super Giants are expected to retain ahead of the 16th edition of Indian Premier League. IPL 2023 will commence within 10 months from now. Punjab Kings, who played their debut IPL season had a good journey in the recently concluded 15th edition of Indian Premier League. Some players performed really well and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) management might retain them ahead of the IPL auction 2023.

Lucknow Super Giants played some good cricket in IPL 2022 however, they lost the eliminator match which saw them out of the competition. They had a well balanced team in IPL 2022 but LSG will surely look to retain these players ahead of the IPL auction 2023.

KL RAHUL

It will not be erroneous to say that KL Rahul is the most consistent batter to have featured in Indian Premier League (IPL) in the last 4-5 years. He is a very good anchor batsman and can accelerate at the backend of the innings. In the recently concluded IPL 2022, the right-hander smashed 616 runs in 15 outings at an average of 51 and a strike rate of 135. Seeing his performances and leadership qualities, Lucknow Super Giants will surely retain him ahead of the IPL auction 2023.

QUINTON DE KOCK

Quinton de Kock had a brilliant IPL 2022 season. He batted with sheer hunger for runs.The southpaw piled up 508 runs in 15 innings at an average of 36 and at a wonderful strike rate of 149. He will also fill the void of a wicket-keeper so LSG management will surely retain this proteas batsman ahead of the IPL auction 2023.

DEEPAK HOODA

The right-handed middle-order batsman, Deepak Hooda was one of the main reasons why Lucknow Super Giants reached the eliminator stage of IPL 2022. He scored 451 runs in 14 outings at an average of 32 and a strike rate of 137. He can also bowl a few overs of off-spin. His retention in the team ahead of the IPL auction 2023 is almost certain.

AVESH KHAN

Avesh Khan turned out to be the backbone of pace bowling unit of Lucknow Super Giants. He bowled with very good pace and ended up as the franchises’ highest wicket-taker. Avesh bagged 18 wickets in 13 innings so Lucknow Super Giants management would definitely retain him ahead of the IPL auction 2023.
