Indian Premier League 2022 Retention list is going to be revealed today (i.e. 30th November 2021) at 9:30 PM only on Hotstar and star sports networks. All teams have almost made their list and they are ready to give it to the BCCI by today. IPL Fans already started making buzz about the players who will lead which teams and who will play in which teams. Check all details about the IPL 2022 Retention update here below.
As per BCCI’s retention policy, franchisees are allowed to retain only four players and the teams are required to submit the final list by November 30.

IPL 2022 Retention Update
With a total salary cap of INR 90 crore available at the mega auction for each team, the eight franchises were eligible to retain up to 4 players with a maximum of 3 Indians, 2 overseas players, and 2 uncapped Indians.
Each of the eight franchises used the Player Retention option with Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Delhi Capitals (DC), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), and Mumbai Indians (MI) opting to retain 4 players each. Rajasthan Royals (RR), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have retained 3 players each while Punjab Kings (PBKS) have retained 2. The PBKS thus have the highest salary purse available with INR 72 crore while Delhi Capitals have least at INR 47.50 to be used at the mega auction.
Of the 27 retained players, 8 are overseas and 4 are uncapped Indians.

*If the League Fee agreed with a Retained Player exceeds the relevant prescribed amount, then an amount equal to that higher League Fee shall be deducted from the relevant Franchisee’s Salary Cap. If the League Fee agreed with a Retained Player is less than the relevant prescribed amount, then an amount equal to the relevant prescribed amount shall be deducted from the relevant Franchisee’s Salary Cap.

IPL 2022 Retention Rules
- A team is set to be allowed to keep up to three Indian (capped/uncapped) and two foreign players with the total number of retentions not exceeding four.
- It has clearly said that a team cannot keep more than two uncapped players.
- As per the conditions, the team management can either retain three Indian players and one overseas player or two Indian players and two overseas players.
- Two New IPL teams can pick any 2 Indian and 1 foreign player from the Mega auction pool before the start of the mega auction 2022.
- Also, new teams can pick only one uncapped player before the auction.
- There will also be no Right to Match (RTM) cards for the IPL 2022 Mega Auction.
IPL 2022 Salary Cap
BCCI also explained the salary cap for the retained players based on the team’s decision of the number of players retention.
- If a team retains 4 players, Rs 42 crore will be cut from the player purse.
- If a team retains 3 players, Rs 33 crore will be cut from the player purse.
- If a team retains 2 players, Rs 24 crore will be cut from the player purse.
- If a team retains only one player, it will lose Rs 14 crore from its purse value.
- Each uncapped player retained will cost Rs 4 crore each.
If a team retains 4 of its player then the salary cap of the four players will be as follows:

CSK Retained Players List
CSK fans definitely very happy this time as MS Dhoni is retained by the CSK Team. Now MS Dhoni will surely play the last match of IPL in Chennai Stadium. Along with MS Dhoni, three more players are retained as Ravindra Jadeja, Moeen Ali, and Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Mumbai Indians have retained 4 players this time for the IPL 2022. Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, and Kieron Pollard are the players who are retained by the Mumbai Indians before the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. Rohit Sharma will lead the team again this time. Rest players Mumbai Indians will buy in the Mega Auction.

Again this year Kane will lead the team. Now purse available with the Sunrisers Hyderabad is 68 Crores. Surely they will buy the big names in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. Rashid Khan is retained by SRH may be he will join now Team Lucknow now.
