Indian Premier League (IPL) season is coming back once again. It will be thirteenth season for the entertainment packed cricket feast in world. Cricket fans across the globe are already tingling with excitement about the upcoming IPL 2020.

Last year Indian Premier League started on 23rd March and it ended on 12th May. Eight of India’s finest cricket clubs will once again compete in World’s most popular Twenty20 event. The teams will all face each other twice – home and away – during the initial round-robin group stage. In the group stage, each team will play a total of 14 games. The top four teams after the conclusion of the group stages will progress to the playoffs.

The playoffs will consist of “Qualifier-1, Qualifier-2″ an “Eliminator” clash and the much-anticipated “IPL T20 Final“. The top two teams will face each other in “Qualifier 1,” with the winner progressing to the final. Those who finish 3rd and 4th will then play in the “Eliminator” for a chance to play in “Qualifier 2,” where they will take on the loser of “Qualifier 1” for a place in the final. On Finale two teams will face each other and the IPL Champion for 2020 will be crowned.

Indian Premier League 2020 fixtures yet to be released, but the start date for the 13th season of Indian Premier League is just announced. IPL 2020 is going to start from 1st week of April and it will end on last week of may.

IPL Predictions and Betting Tips

Before the IPL 2020 auctions, it is really silly to say about the IPL predictions. But it is sure that all the eight teams will add more firepower to their teams and will be looking to go all guns blazing in IPL 2020 which will begin in April. To provide you with the best information, we ask some of the leaders in cricket betting predictions, for their IPL predictions.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) – IPL Prediction

Chennai Super Kings lost the final match against Mumbai Indians but this doesn’t mean that CSK is not fit to lift the trophy for 2020 editions. MS Dhoni is still be the part of CSK’s Squad so one can assure that this team will sure win maximum matches in upcoming series. CSK have the experience of Suresh Rain, all-rounder Dwayne Bravo and Ravindra Jadeja. Be it the batsmen or the bowlers, CSK is certainly not short of options. With three titles already under their belt, it will not be surprising to see them clinch their fourth and become the most successful team in the tournament.

Expert Prediction: Betting on CSK will perhaps be the safest option given their consistency in the IPL until now.

Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) – IPL Prediction

In the auction, there was a lot of money spent on some the cricket players, like Varun Chakravarthy for Rs. 8 crores by Kings XI Punjab (KXIP). He is a leg-spinner – who showed his class in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL), where he picked up nine wickets at 20.88 and an economy rate of just 4.70. Also, in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2018 – the 50-over domestic tournament in India – he picked up 22 wickets at 16.68 – finishing as the tournament’s second highest wicket-taker. Sticking to KXIP, they have also invested heavily on Prabhsimran Singh, about to turn 19, this year, largely due to his good show with the Under-19 and the India Emerging team.

Expert Prediction: KXIP have a good selection of players, and the addition of Mohammed Shami, Moises Henriques and Hardus Viljoen too might see them challenge for top honours.

Mumbai Indians (MI) – IPL Prediction

Mumbai Indians is defending champions in Indian Premier League. Currently I would say Mumbai Indians have balanced team. Under Rohit Sharma’s tutelage, MI has been a force to be considered over the years, including in the upcoming IPL 2020. The acquisition of Quinton de Kock even before the auction was a masterstroke. He will be dangerous at the top either partnering Evin Lewis or the Rohit himself. MI have two of the best death over bowlers in Jasprit Bumrah and Sri Lanka’s Lasith Malinga, who they brought back into the fold in the auction for their base price of Rs 2 crore.

Expert Prediction: MI have a variety in each department, especially in their all-rounder’s department which consists of Kieron Pollard, Krunal Pandya, his younger Hardik and Aussie Ben Cutting. Undoubtedly, MI will be one of the teams to watch out for this season. Like CSK, betting on MI too will most likely be a safe call, given their illustrious history of titles.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) – IPL Prediction

On the other hand, it might be risky to place your bets on the Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), who are yet to taste the IPL success. They have come close a couple of times but have failed at the final hurdle. RCB added to their all-rounders, Akshdeep Nath, Shivam Dube (Rs 5 crore) and 16-year-old Prayas Ray Barman for Rs 1.5 crore. RCB also bought West Indies’ hard-hitting batsman Shimron Hetmyer for Rs 4.2 crore, who will add further fire-power to the middle-order, which already consists of the of AB de Villiers. With RCB not buying any opening batsmen this time around, we could see Kohli himself open with Parthiv Patel, who is also a wicketkeeping option. RCB bought another wicketkeeper Heinrich Klaasen, who is a talented batsman. It was Colin de Grandhomme who was the only fast bowling all-rounder last year, but RCB now have Marcus Stoinis too as an option. Bowling has always been RCB’s issue and they have not invested in it again. Mohammad Siraj, Tim Southee, Umesh Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal and Co. will have to step up.

Expert Prediction: RCB are an unpredictable team – they might win easily but could also suffer a shattering defeat. RCB could turn out to be a huge blessing for those who prefer the “high-risk, high-reward” betting.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) – IPL Prediction

Rajasthan Royals (RR) just about made it to the playoffs last season, but with the return of Steven Smith, their batting will further strengthen. Unluckily, with Smith’s latest injury, it is not clear if he will be fit for the beginning of the tournament. RR possess a series of talented all-rounders including Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer, Stuart Binny, and the recently acquired Ashton Turner and Lancashire’s Liam Livingstone. However, their biggest purchase was that of fast bowler Jaydev Unadkar, who fetched Rs 8.4 crore. RR was captained by Ajinkya Rahane last season and it will be interesting to see if the equation changes when Smith returns. RR has not won the IPL title since the inaugural season in 2018 and given that they have bolstered their squad in the IPL auction, they could very well be in with a chance for victory. Unfortunately, one day they could play extremely well, but the next they look like a mediocre set of players.

Expert Prediction: Betting on them will be very tricky, but the best time to place your bet will be after they have a confirmed set of players.

Delhi Capitals (DC) – IPL Prediction

Delhi Daredevils have now changed their name to Delhi Capitals (DC). But will that change their fortunes around? The last time a team with initials ‘DC’ won the IPL title was back in 2009 when Deccan Chargers took the trophy home in South Africa, beating an Anil Kumble-led RCB in the final. What’s more coincidental is that DC finished at the bottom in 2008 before winning the title in 2009. Delhi Capitals finished last in 2018. Can they do a Deccan Chargers this time around? Shreyas Iyer has been confirmed the captain for this season. DC has the talents of Rishabh Pant, Prithvi Shaw and the recently drafted Shikhar Dhawan in the team. With Chris Morris, Kagiso Rabada and Trent Boult already in the squad, they do have one formidable unit. The Delhi franchise has not made it to the playoffs since the inaugural season. Only a brave soul will bet on DC.

Expert Prediction: Even with the latest additions, they might once again not pose much of a threat in the 2020 IPL edition and will not be surprising to see them finish at the bottom half of the table once again.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) – IPL Prediction

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) were a force to be reckoned with when Gautam Gambhir was at the helm. But Dinesh Karthik in his first season in charge finished third in the IPL 2018 table. KKR stocked up on some of the best Under-19 Indian talents like Shubman Gill, Shivam Mavi and Kamlesh Nagarkoti last season. KKR has bought West Indies T20I captain Carlos Brathwaite for Rs 5 crore along with Joe Denly, who recently became the first player to score a century and pick up a hat-trick in the same T20 match. He achieved this feat for Kent against Surrey in July 2018. They already have one of the best all-rounders Andre Russell, mystery spinner Sunil Narine, and wrist spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Piyush Chawla. Anrich Nortje and Lockie Ferguson are the two other express fast bowlers, who have been included. Once again, KKR looks a formidable force and going by the squad, they have the ability to chase down any target and also defend any score in a given day.

Expert Prediction: What will work against them is inexperience among a few players, but as long as a few core players deliver, they should be fine. Finishing in the Top 4 will be a bare minimum for KKR and the odds of winning are better for them.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) – IPL Prediction

With the acquisition of Martin Guptill, Jonny Bairstow and Wriddhiman Saha in the IPL auction, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have managed to add more depth into their already powerful squad. David Warner is set to return this time after he missed IPL 2018 due to a ban. SRH have wonderful players in all departments. The fast bowlers will be led by Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who is one of the best T20 bowlers in the world. He has the likes of Billy Stanlake, Khaleel Ahmed and Sandeep Sharma to support him. The team also has one of the best all-rounders – Shakib Al Hasan, along with Vijay Shankar, Yusuf Pathan and Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi. Rashid Khan has impressed the IPL over the last couple of seasons and will be a key figure if SRH is to go the distance. Although Kane Williamson captained SRH last season to runners up finish, it will be interesting to see if Warner gets his job back.

Expert Prediction: SRH is one of the top players in the IPL and betting on them should be safe.

IPL 2020 Teams

Total 8 teams will take part in Indian Premier League 2020. It is 13th season of Indian Premier League. Last season won by Mumbai Indian. Here is the IPL 2020 teams details.

1- Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)
