All the Chennai Super Kings home matches have been moved to Pune, according to reports. Chennai Police said that they can not able to provide the security to the cricketer after massive protests over Cauvery water sharing dispute issue.
BCCI and Committee of Administrator (CoA) took the decision to move the all the home ground match of Chennai Super Kings from Chennai to Pune. The ticket sales for the match between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals on April 20 have been postponed.
Now Pune is going to host total 8 matches, 6 Chennai Super Kings matches, and 2 playoff matches.
Tuesday’s thrilling match between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders was held despite massive protests on Chennai’s streets and it had a few moments of anxiety after a shoe was thrown on the field by a spectator who was later evicted
Meanwhile,actor-turned-politician Rajinikanth on Wednesday demanded strict action against those who thrashed policemen during the anti-IPL protests, saying that violence was no solution to the Cauvery row.
The superstar took to Twitter to share a video of a protestor hitting a police personnel and said, “The worst form of violence in law and order situation is attack on uniformed personnel on duty. This form of violence has to be tackled immediately as it poses a grave danger to our country.”
“We need more stringent laws to punish the perpetrators of the attack on police personnel on duty,” he added.
IPL’s most popular franchise CSK has made a comeback to the League after serving the two-year suspension on charges of spot-fixing in 2013.
This is not the first time CSK forced to move the home match. In past also Ranchi was the home match for the CSK when Tamil Nadu boycott the Sri Lanka players.
