India Announce Their 15-Member Squad For Asia Cup 2022

India on Monday (8th August) announced their 15-member squad for Asia Cup 2022. Men in blue have picked their full-fledged side for this mouthwatering tournament. Rohit Sharma-led Indian team is expected to go all guns blazing on their opponents in the upcoming Asia Cup.

India has picked five batsmen, two-wicket keeper-batters, one fast bowling all-rounder, one spinning all-rounder, three specialist spinners, and three pacers. Taking a close look at the squad, team India will reach Dubai for Asia Cup 2022 with nine batters, (All-rounders included in both batting and bowling unit) four spinners, and four fast bowlers. The inclusion of Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja in the squad has given it flexibility and depth both in the bowling and batting unit.

India’s premier fast bowlers, Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel have been ruled out of the Asia Cup 2022 due to injuries. They will take a rest and try to be fit and fresh ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 ( Australia) which will take place in October and will end in November this year. India could miss the firey yorkers of Jasprit Bumrah and variations of Harshal Patel in the Asia Cup.

The mighty Asia Cup 2022 will commence on 27th August (Saturday) between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan and the final will be played on 11th September in Dubai. India will meet their arch-rivals Pakistan on 28th August (Sunday) in a high voltage encounter at Dubai International Stadium. This will be a treat to watch for the fans.
