The Delhi Capitals (DC) is founded in 2008 as the Delhi Daredevils. It is a franchise cricket team that represents the city of Delhi in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Later in December 2018, the team changed its name from the Delhi Daredevils to the Delhi Capitals. The Capitals broke their 12-year title jinx by appearing in their first IPL final in 2020 and qualified for the IPL playoffs in 2019 for the first time in 7 years.
Delhi Capitals is jointly brought by the GMR Group and the JSW Group. In 2018, 50% of the franchise ownership was transferred to the JSW Group. Not only this they have renamed Delhi Daredevils to Delhi Capitals after the ownership transfer only.
