Commonwealth Games 2030

Everything you need to know about the Games

The Commonwealth Games are a multi-sport event held every four years, bringing together athletes from the nations and territories of the Commonwealth. First staged in Hamilton, Canada, in 1930, the Games have grown into one of the world's largest multi-sport gatherings, sitting alongside the Olympics as a defining moment in an athlete's career.

The 2030 edition is the 24th Commonwealth Games and marks a full century since that first meeting in 1930 — which is why it is known as the Centenary Commonwealth Games. It is a milestone edition, celebrating 100 years of the movement while pointing to its next chapter.

Amdavad (Ahmedabad), in the Indian state of Gujarat, was confirmed as the host city by Commonwealth Sport in November 2025. It will be only the second time India has staged the Games, after New Delhi in 2010, and places the centenary edition in the world's most populous nation.
