Bangladesh on Saturday (13th August) announced their 17-member squad for Asia Cup 2022. Shakib Al Hasan returns as the captain of the Bangladesh T20 side for the Asia Cup 2022.
Bangladesh has picked five batsmen, two-wicket keeper-batters, one fast bowling all-rounder, one spinning all-rounder, three specialist spinners, and three pacers. Taking a close look at the squad, team Bangladesh will reach Dubai for Asia Cup 2022 with nine batters, (All-rounders included in both batting and bowling unit) four spinners, and four fast bowlers.
Saifuddin returns to the Bangladesh squad after an absence of close to 10 months. He last featured for the Tigers in the T20 World Cup last year where his tournament was cut short after being ruled out due to a back injury. Out-of-favour Rahman too finds a place in the squad having last appeared for Bangladesh in the shortest format in 2019.

Bangladesh finds itself in Group B in the Asia Cup pitted against Afghanistan and Sri Lanka. The mighty Asia Cup 2022 will commence on 27th August (Saturday) between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan and the final will be played on 11th September in Dubai. Bangladesh will meet Afghanistan on the 30th of August 2022. It will be a great match and on the 1st of September 2022, Sri Lanka will take on Bangladesh.
