Al-Thumama Stadium (Arabic: ملعب الثمامة Malʿab ath-Thumāma) is a football stadium in Al Thumama, Qatar. It is one of the dedicated venues for the 2022 FIFA world cup. The stadium will host the eight matches of the 2022 FIFA world cup which includes a quarter-final and group matches. Al-Thumama Stadium is located about 12 km away from Doha.
The FIFA federation has announced the schedule for the FIFA World Cup 2022. A total of eight matches will be played at this venue. Al-Thumama stadium has a seating capacity of 40,000 but after the FIFA World Cup 2022 Qatar, it will again be reduced to 20000 seats. This season Qatar will host the biggest sports event of football. The tournament will begin on November 20, 2022, while the final will be staged on 18 December 2022 which coincides with Qatar National Day. Even then it will be hot with temperatures around the 30C mark.
