Unrivaled has reshuffled its 48-player pool two months before Season 3. Phantom star Aliyah Boston will sit out 2027, Breeze guard Kate Martin is gone, and guard Kaitlyn Chen and forward Isabelle Harrison are in on one-year deals.
On Oct. 28, 2026, Unrivaled announced that Aliyah Boston (Phantom BC) will miss the 2027 season while she recovers from a procedure, and that Kate Martin (Breeze BC) and the league agreed to end her contract. Kaitlyn Chen and Isabelle Harrison signed one-year deals to fill the pool. The league said team assignments would come at the Nov. 4 roster reveal.

Why Aliyah Boston Will Miss Unrivaled Season 3
Boston is the biggest name affected. The Indiana Fever had already announced a procedure for her, and Unrivaled says she needs the offseason to recover. Several outlets report it as knee surgery.
She isn’t leaving the league, though. Boston is on a multi-year deal and is expected back for the 2028 season. For Phantom, which reached the 2026 title game, losing its All-Star post is the biggest roster hole heading into the reveal.
Kate Martin and Unrivaled Part Ways
Martin played in both of the league’s first two seasons, most recently with Breeze BC. The split was mutual. Clare Duwelius, Unrivaled’s President of Basketball, thanked Martin and said the league will always count her among its inaugural athletes.
Martin said it was “special to help launch a league that continues to elevate women’s basketball,” and hinted she has something new lined up without saying what.
Who Are Kaitlyn Chen and Isabelle Harrison?
Isabelle Harrison, forward
Harrison is coming off her ninth WNBA season and her first with the expansion Toronto Tempo. It was the best year of her career. She scored a career-high 26 points against the Las Vegas Aces on July 20 and reached 15 points in 13 games. She has also played for Phoenix, San Antonio, Dallas, Chicago and New York, plus more than five years overseas. In college she was a two-time First-Team All-SEC pick at Tennessee.
Kaitlyn Chen, guard
Chen just finished her second season with the Golden State Valkyries, who took her 30th overall in the 2025 draft. She set career highs in points and assists (1.9 per game) and ranked among the league’s busiest bench players. Before that she won the 2025 national title with UConn and was the 2023 Ivy League Player of the Year at Princeton.
Both signings are one-year deals (see how Unrivaled contracts and pay work), and the announcement didn’t say which teams they’d join. Harrison gives a team a rebounder in the post. In a 3-on-3 format with no room to hide, that’s exactly what Phantom lost with Boston, which makes her a natural fit for the open spot.
What Comes Next for Unrivaled
At the time of the announcement, the league had set the full team roster reveal for Wednesday, Nov. 4 at 7 PM ET (6 PM CT, 4 PM PT) on Bleacher Report’s app and YouTube. That show was set to place Chen and Harrison and fill Boston’s spot in Phantom’s frontcourt. Our Unrivaled teams and rosters page has every player by team. The full Season 3 schedule was due Nov. 6, and the season tips off in Boston on Jan. 8, 2027. Our Unrivaled tickets guide covers every tour city.
